Updates

We do all our own programming.  Almost all the other companies who offer circulation models pay other companies to do theirs.  That means they have an out-of pocket expense every time they want to update their programs.  We don't, so you don't either

The MPMW is almost continuously updated and improved and we release new versions about 3 times a year to keep up with changes in the industry and to incorporate new tools and ideas as we think of them.  We don't have many program bugs, but when we do they are usually fixed the same day (often within an hour) and a replacement is on its way by e-mail, so that little client time is lost.

Some of the major improvements in the latest versions were:

Version 5.4 Provide an Optimizer that chooses among additional sub promotion and newsstand options to find the most profitable plan to meet ABC requirements.  The Optimizer can be used to determine "how much Direct Mail do we need", the marketing plan for next year and even a five year plan for a startup that maximizes cash flow.
Version 5.3 Model web sites with monthly fees  and daily newspapers
Version 5.2 Model continuity series.
Version 5.1 Implement RABs
Version 5.0 A complete rewrite of the user interface to allow multiple windows to be open on a single file, drag and drop, use of tree controls, moveable toolbar, e-mail an open file, use liability or expires to initialize a model, and several new commands useful when you want to extend projections for one or more years.
Version 4.07 Allow companies using standard sets of sources to hide unused sources in a particular model file.  Display actual production by start issue or in compacted form.
Version 4.06 Easily and accurately model many different renewal sources.
Model sub extensions.
Version 4.05 Allow production uploads from major fulfillment houses to update price/terms
Version 4.04 Provide new facilities for modeling 2 for 1 renewal/gift mailings.
Allow "projected" and "actual" sources to make updating easier and allow actualizing advance renewal mailings.
Version 4.03

Provide a Source Report Wizard that makes designing source reports very much quicker and easier.

Add report writer facilities to allow more detailed statistical reports.

Version 4.02

Allow production uploads from the major fulfillment houses, to make monthly updating much easier.

Allow specification of the first issue of an ABC period instead of assuming January and July, and provide new report writer facilities making designing ABC reports much easier.

Allow backstarting renewals that are received after the grace period.

Version 4.01

Allow "no income on cancels" for agent sources because New Sub Services had announced that it would discontinue paying income on some cancel copies.

A Frequency Change Wizard that makes it easier to model frequency changes.

Allow specification of the common expire issues for weekly magazines instead of assuming that the common expire issue was the last issue of a month.
