Reporting

The MPMW Report Writer lets you design as many custom reports as you want – or our support team will do it for you if you prefer. Once a report is designed you can use it with as many different models as you want. You can preview reports on your monitor screen, print them, or transfer the results to another Windows application, such as a spreadsheet.

You can have circulation reports, both Eastern and Western methods, P&L’s, budgets, cash flows and balanc sheets. We provide a standard set of report definitions, but the Report Writer lets you print reports in exactly the format you want, or transfer the data you want to a spreadsheet that does charts, budget vs. actual, etc. You can use the model results or numbers from outside the model, and you can do calculations with them all.

The Report Writer can use almost any method of reporting subscription income and expense, and the methods can be different from one source to another. For example, for agent sources you might report the net income accrued over the life of the sub, while for direct-to-publisher sources you might report gross income accrued over the life of the sub and the expense as sold.

Some of the more common methods of reporting subscription expense are:

As sold            As incurred           Accrued over the life of the sub            Pool method

Among the almost unlimited types of reports you can use are:

Circulation by Source                                                                Departmental P&L

On-Off reports by Source                                                         Cash Flow

Circulation P&L including Circulation Levels                              Balance Sheet

High-level P&L                                                                         Source and Use of Funds
