Technical Description

The Magazine Publishing Model for Windows (MPMW) is a computer program that is a full financial model for magazines that sell subscriptions. It is used to manage and project circulation, develop budgets and do re-forecasts, and make long range projections of the entire magazine operation for start-ups, acquisitions, free-to-paid studies, etc. The MPMW has many features that make it the most accurate and efficient model on the market today, and it is a true weekly publication model that can report by week and by month.

The program is written in optimized Microsoft C++ for use with any version of Windows. It makes full use of the Windows graphical user interface. Pull-down menus, toolbars with standard icons, dialog boxes, mouse support and on-line context-sensitive help are all provided. Data can be exchanged with Microsoft Office and other Windows applications.

The MPMW will run on today’s standard PC Workstations. It requires a PC with Windows 95 or later and at least 256 MB of RAM . The program and Help files use 1 MB of disk space. There can be any number of data and report definition files. Data files range in size from 100 KB to 1MB and report definitions from 20 KB to 50 KB.
